Efforts Aim to Raise $1 Million Dollars Towards JA’s Finance Park Project

Junior Achievement of San Diego (“JA”) announced today that it has partnered with Accretive of San Diego (“Accretive”) in an effort to raise at least $1 million of the estimated $4 million needed to build JA’s Finance Park San Diego, a reality-based, hands-on learning environment for junior and senior high school students.

“We are extremely excited about JA Finance Park San Diego”, said Joanne Pastula, CEO of JA San Diego. “This new program will complement our highly successful Biztown program serving elementary school students in San Diego and neighboring counties. The new Finance Park will be developed and designed to provide junior and senior high students with the specialized skills and training they need to achieve independent economic success when they graduate from high school.” Finance Park San Diego is expected to open in 2015 with an estimated cost of approximately $4 million. Finance Park San Diego will be the latest addition to the growing number of JA Finance Parks and Biztown programs throughout the JA system.

“We are extremely proud to be partnering with JA to support the campaign to develop Finance Park here in San Diego. Accretive’s unique shared-savings approach to fundraising will enable local San Diego companies and organizations to uncover significant cost savings within their organizations and share a portion of newly implemented savings to help fund Finance Park.” Neilson added “We believe this is truly a win-win-win approach to fundraising. Our experience is that most organizations have potential savings in multiple areas of their companies other than headcount & payroll.”
